Guess My Noisy Food

I am in a restaurant eating right this moment. The main course is very noisy. See if you can guess what it is. In 24 hours or so I will post a picture.

Clue: The noise decreases over time.

Second Clue: Animal, Vegetable, and Mineral (?) - its not a vegetable.

  1. Is it corn nuts? That's about the noisiest food I can think of. This post has made me chuckle to myself all day.

  2. Tacos are noisy all the way through, I hate the rotten, messy, slobbery, crunchy, spill their guts all over the dinner plate and my shirt things. How can anyone enjoy eating them and I really hope that's not what it is for your sake and the sakes of anyone eating in the same room.

  3. Julie: You found a noisy food that is noisy while eating, very good, tacos are very noisy, but my food was noisy all by itself, sitting there on the table. You are close!

  6. A chicken can be very noisy particularly if it is running about on your plate while you try and stab it with a knife. A cow would be noisier but that would be stupid as a cow would break both the plate and I suspect the table. Most tables are not designed for a cow to stand on, I know this. Anyway that is my guess as I'm in the UK it is difficult here we don't like food that is noisy much or runs about on your plate.

  9. It is a hotplate of sorts, chicken breasts that slowly cools off on this bit of stone.

Chicken chivettas... but we are talking about america so let me guess, buffalo wings.

  10. Garry got it! It was chicken fajitas served on a griddle plate that is used to cook the chicken fajitas on a bed of onions and peppers, but I think they forgot the peppers yesterday. It is sizzling hot when it arrives at the table, and yesterday I must have got eXtremely fast service from the kitchen to my table, the sizzling noise was reaLLy loud! These are my favorite fajitas, topped with cheese and bacon during the cooking process.

  12. Mia: Noise (sound) doesn't decrease over time, but does decrease over distance as the energy in the air waves is absorbed by surrounding material and the size of the wave increases. If the source of a noise is driven by a constant oscillation of a mechanical device then it can reach a steady state, for example a humming noise of a speaker. The noise of my food was generated by chemicals of my food subjected to a very hot cooking surface, which cooled gradually while it was on my table eventually generating no sound. Now I am hungry again and I will see if I can convince my wife to go on a date for noisy food! I am thankful you sent a comment which sent a message to my email which caused a noise which woke me up and now my stomach is growling while I hear either my dog or my wife, or both, snoring.
