I saw something on a google search that indicated the Mick Jagger was possibly dead, and I thought, what, I hadn't heard about that, even though I'm not a fan. So I went to his wikipedia article and it indicated that he was still alive. But then I read a little ways into the article and discovered that he had been knighted back in 2003.
Sir Michael Philip "Mick" Jagger
Hmmm. Knight? I realize that rock stars tend to be rather nocturnal beings, so I could believe 'nighted' without a k, that makes sense. But knight?
I would like to go back in time 500 or so years and have a talk with a few English knights, real ones, and ask them about this nonsense, what it means to become a knight, the process, to be a knight on a daily basis, saving dragons in distress and slaying damsels.
So I tell a real knight that 500 years in the future you can become a knight by singing in a rock band, [I have to eXplain rock music (twice, he didn't get it the first time)], writing songs, partying, having lots of women, drinking and doing a bunch of mind altering drugs. The confused real knight looks at me and says, "That's not a knight, that's a jester"
After making it back to the present I wonder, does Mick even have a suit of armor?
Absent For A Bit ....
I am away for a little while working on a few or more episodes for The Adventures of My Space Alien Alter Ego story ... will return (to Earth) soon!
Notice: Blogger has screwed up and lost a bunch of photos out of my blog! They are replaced with a gray silhouette of a human head. I will eventually get them replaced with the correct photo, it may take a while to find and fix everything. So some of my stories don't make much sense without their photos, sorry for the inconvenience.

I am also in the process of linking my poetry blog entries together. This project is only partially finished. A "Poetry LINK" at the bottom of the blog entry points to the next older piece of poetry.
First poem in the series of linked poems ....

Yes Sir Mick...... It was a bit controversial at the time. It was sales of music and the like that finally got him a knighthood. They are not what they were in the old days that's for sure...(knighthoods and songs)
I am hoping I might just get something for my contribution to blogging
Sir Rob, Prints In Wales: I think that would be cool for you to get all CBE, Commander of the British Empire, Knight of Good Blogging, KGB, but just your luck there might be a dyslexic person on the search committee who thinks, "Hmmm, 'Sir Rob' ? boRriS,,,Boris,,,Борис,,, KGB, that just sounds too Russian to me." But if they happen to knight you, that would give me a good eXcuse to come to the UK to visit (and party).
Yeah, have to say that the whole idea of a knighthood is debased by "Sir" Mick. But then I'm just an old grouch I suppose. Thanks for your witty comments on my blog! :D
I am voting Sir Jester and you are quite right on this one. He prolly does have the armor as he is rich and can purchase such items.
Let's put Sir Mick in full armor and give him a horse and lance. If he can joust, then he deserves to be called a knight. If not, then no!
Shelly: I like your idea! I am in favor of a Jagger Joust. I read more about Jagger and discovered there was an ABC show called The Knights of Prosperity where he was listed as an executive producer and appeared in the first episode. It was a comedy about celebrities being robbed.
A jester seems like a much better title for Mick.
Wikipedia is the best source of truth and knighthood.
