Poles
I Think That I shall never see
A pole lovely as a Tree
A pole wiTh a horizonTal 2 by 4 aT iTs cresT
Upon iT insulaTors where wires can resT
A pole thaT poinTs direcTly up aT God all day
Unless a weak foundaTion has made iT sway
A pole That may someTimes protecTively wear
A poisonous Tar coaTing To make insecTs beware
And cables To carry The currenT we all need
To give our appliances such whirring speed
And provide The power They conTinue To do
Unless a massive sTorm snaps The wires in Two
Poems are made by me when I geT silly
BuT a power pole is made by a sawmilly

A POWERful poem, with it's roots planted firmly in the FOUNDATIONS of the Joyce Kilmer Ode. I knew that when I SAW this is my feed, I WOOD enjoy it immensely.
Lily Jo: I am just glad I didn't write it in LIMB-eric form, that might LEAVE you confused.
I like all the Ts it reminds me of TT, hilarious remember that stupid comic bear bragging that he did not have any TT stuck to his tush? I still crack up over that one.
I guess you have run out of printing?
A rather nice poem Mr ESB
My thoughts at the end when I read . . . . . 'made by a sawmilly' . . . . were. Who is Milly and what has she been doing to make her sore, but then making poles can be hard work.
I suspect one must consider the Poem about Poles in the whole. . . HAH AH HA HAh aha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
:)
fmcgmccllc: I was just imagining T's as power line poles with a cross member. I should probably take a snapshot of the poem then pull it into CorelDRAW and put connecting wires between the T's.
Badger: I have been writing siLLy things as comments on a group photo collection of "Lost & Found" objects on Facebook, and this poem was a response to a photo of trees chopped down with a distant power pole appearing to rise from the stump in the foreground. Printing has been veRy busy but I had a break for a few days.
Rob: one must also consider holy poemed whole poles in holes, hhohohohohohoho
