After I got home from the groc store late at night about 11 PM I sat down on the couch after putting everything away. Then Cooper complained to me, and I suddenly remembered that I had forgot to get his dog biscuits at the store, after I had told him early in the day I would get him some. Luckily there was a box of tiny dog biscuits for Trixie still at our house, so I gave him three of those.

I have 36 windows open in my Safari web browser. Perhaps I should close a few.

I learned something new. The state of Tennessee is legally split into three sections: East, Middle and West. They are called Grand Divisions. They are represented by the three stars in the state flag.
When I checked the state quarter for Tennessee they emphasized the distinct music styles of the Grand Divisions and put three musical instruments and three stars. BUT I noticed that the star in the middle position is significantly smaller than the other two. (I'm sorry, the blogger iPad app didn't pull in this photo of the Tennesse quarter so I will have to do it layer when I get to the office on my PC)
It may be difficult to see the difference in this photo on Facebook, but I used a caliper type device to detect the difference in the original photo.
I put a Tennessee quarter in my flat bed scanner and then used CorelDRAW to measure the longest dimension of the two stars in question. The smaller star is approximately 89% (+/- 1%) as wide as the larger star.
I think they should rename the state Tennes-three.

Today's Math Lesson: There are 364 holes in my laundry hamper, almost one for each day of the year. So I can look at my empty hamper and imagine a hole-y year. If you include the mouth of the hamper that would be 365.
My friend from Delaware asked me if I counted them all. I told her it was easy because there were 4 sections of 9x10 then the 4 holes for handles.

RIACH-Herd has a new look: Sunglasses
(RIACH: Reindeer In A Cup Holder)
He has a secret stash of BBQ sauce packets in his bag just for me.
It is hard to see from the camera angle, but he has a beautiful smile.

Powys just over the border in Wales is split into three. Montgomeryshire, Brecknock and Radnorshire which where the old counties before they (the government) reorganized them all. The old counties all vanishing so that local government would be super efficient, sadly it seemed to fail.
I'm not sure why the part about having 36 windows opened made me laugh. I shall have to go away and think about that.
OKAY, I'm back and have reread said sentence. Nope, still funny and nope, I still have no idea why I find it so. Sometimes I despair at myself.
Rob: I was doing some research to respond to you BUT after I found my information I got confused and spent looking through comments on YOUR blog instead of mine, then I s'ddenly remembered it was on my blog.
I discovered my sister lives in Middle Tennesse and she is my oldest sister, but now I can caLL her my Middle sister. I checked the map and she is about as far south of Interstate 40 as I am north, but because the highway doesn'trun perfectly east and west she is actually a bit north of me. So she is my oldest middle northerly south-side sister.
Lily Jo: The only eXplanation is that I am a comedic genius in veRy tiny doses eXtremely infrequently, or its aLL a dream.
Well, I spent a fair amount of growing up time in West Tennessee and then my family lived in East Tennessee so I have no Middle. That is why I see things the way I do, no middle.
fmcgmccllc: E's seem to dominate 'Tennessee', even when you add West and East. At least there is an I in Middle. If you remove the middle of middle you are left with Me.
You got our blogs confused, I see that as a compliment as you are a clever man. I am not that clever but with age comes some degree of wisdom and little bits of information that can make people think I'm clever. . .
I have heard a few things on the news about flooding in Texas but I am assuming you are OK as I do remember you live quite high up.
Rob: Yes, we are quite high at over 3,000 feet but we have had a few interesting tOO much water in places. We have had several flash flood advisories. My younger son went to visit his older brother in south Texas a few days ago and is going to have an interesting trip back home, hopefully he can find his way home safely. It has now been 45 days since I watered my grape plants. It rains so often that it is difficult to get your grass cut, and the roofers are busy but hampered by rain so leaky houses have temporary tarps in places. This has been the wettest month ever recorded in several places in Texas and Oklahoma. At least the extremely long drought is over for most of Texas but the state is so large there are still dry spots.
We do have a lot of fun trying to be clever with this blog thing, it is a lot of fun. The world helps us out from time to time by being so bizarre and having common friends like Lily Jo.
You forgot his biscuits? Shame!
Badger: You would think I would have been trained properly after only nine and a half years on the job but I am obviously a little absent minded at times. It is a good thing I have an iPhone to write notes, reminders, things to do and repeatable alarms; a more reliable brain.
I don't wish to be picky but is it not time for another blog?
Badger: NO !!! It is not time!!! - Just kidding, I am long overdue...I have been trying to keep up in commenting at least on your blog and Rob Z Tobor; I love your blog, you, Cate, Georgia, Monika and Sissi. I have tried writing a few times lately but didn't like the content; discontent with my content. I have been tired all the time, not sleeping, waking at 3 AM ish every single day. Too much Trump nonsense. Its terrible. Plus I was sick for a couple weeks before and after the 4th of July with congestion junk. My first batch of home brew beer turned out okay .. I think .. I can drink it and I have some distributed to friends to try. Grape harvest is essentially over for this year for making wine. Now I just need to get some more equipment and wine yeast and I will start that process, as long as it doesn't interfere with my trip soon to South Dakota.
