Absent For A Bit ....

I am away for a little while working on a few or more episodes for The Adventures of My Space Alien Alter Ego story ... will return (to Earth) soon!

Notice: Blogger has screwed up and lost a bunch of photos out of my blog! They are replaced with a gray silhouette of a human head. I will eventually get them replaced with the correct photo, it may take a while to find and fix everything. So some of my stories don't make much sense without their photos, sorry for the inconvenience.

Blogger Failing Again In Several Ways

I am eXperiencing problems with Blogger again with logins. I am being forced to login way too often. Add this to the other recent development that their editor doesn't work with the latest version of iOS 7 for repositioning the cursor or performing the 'select' functionality. It also messed up the publishing date on a recent post.

Technology is often not friendly, I am still a Windows XP sort of chap. I am not entirely sure that all the latest updates for most operating systems are needed. I am sure most folk barely scratch the surface of their operating systems capabilities. So I plan to stay with XP until it finally refuses to do anything.

Rob: Yes, Windows XP is a nice stopping point for a computer operating system. I imagine that people wiLL keep building new motherboards that are XP compatible for quite awhile and there is plenty of software. I run into problems in the business world where certain software and equipment require the latest Op Sys in order to function. We run into that in laboratories as weLL when gathering data to feed into LIMS systems. Then there are security issues to deal with as weLL. I do like my iPad, it meets my needs weLL and overaLL is nicer than having a stationary PC. The PC touchscreen in my business office is nice because I can work up close to the surface and I also have the Cintiq hooked to it as weLL, so the PC is like having an iPad that is 2.5 times as large that fills your field of vision even more than the regular iPad and then has a second drawing pad attached that has about 70 percent more area than an iPad with touch sensitive pen, plus it has Geek Squad tech support. So doing commercial artwork on it is nice and I am just getting started. I am now looking at industrial embroidery machines and many other print-like technologies. Lotza toys to play with, keep running, ...

I think you have a much better brain than me, I have reached the point where my brain is happy if the stuff it knows does not change.

I am sure you are one of the few who use your technology at its most efficient and get the most out of it. However as the Ghost Writer I do cheer folk up in the office when I threaten an old PC with a beating and being locked in a dark cupboard for an hour when it plays up. It is an odd approach to IT support, but has kept me out of trouble for ten years now and I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Yes, those are intere-sting techniques for IT managed-ment for keeping things ruining in meant condition. I have always said,

"Spare the firmware upgrade, spoil the microprocessor"

- (actuaLLy I have neVer said it as I just now created it for you, hahaha)

I am taking a short break with Cooper at my feet. ActuaLLy I haven't left the house, as I try to give myself Mondays off as much as possible. We looked at an industrial embroidery machine yesterday, but it was quite old and the people want a ridiculous amount of money for it. I think that dusty and trial would be the better way to describe it.

I have not upgraded to iOS 7 yet as I am afraid it will crash some/all of my Apple devices

I have had a tendency to upgrade my iOS devices as soon as releases are available, perhaps I should wait to see if there is an e-maelstrom in the public arena, but then again sometimes I lead a sheltered life cut off from the news on purpose. I have just been in mourning. One of my neighbors and her patents were killed and her husband was driving when they were the victims of road rage. She was slightly older than me with her parents in their nineties. Her husband was injured. The 22 year old truck driver ran them off the road with plenty of witnesses. They struck a utility pole. The truck driver was charged with 3 felony counts. They are actually my double neighbors. We live on the same street and then their catering business is directly across Main Street from our main business building.

Something New:

I am also in the process of linking my poetry blog entries together. This project is only partially finished. A "Poetry LINK" at the bottom of the blog entry points to the next older piece of poetry.
