Absent For A Bit ....
I am away for a little while working on a few or more episodes for The Adventures of My Space Alien Alter Ego story ... will return (to Earth) soon!
Notice: Blogger has screwed up and lost a bunch of photos out of my blog! They are replaced with a gray silhouette of a human head. I will eventually get them replaced with the correct photo, it may take a while to find and fix everything. So some of my stories don't make much sense without their photos, sorry for the inconvenience.

This data shows that Republican voters in Pennsylvania want to have their cake and eat it too. Kasich polls last among the Republicans BUT performs better against the Democrats in a general election match up.

To us Brits the USA voting system to elect a President seems very odd , and then they dont seem to be able to do a lot once they are President, because the rest of the system blogs all their ideas. What you need is a non elected royal family that dont do anything, but are popular with tourists and once every twenty five years we all have a street party and wave flags.
Rob: I seem to remember something about the United States once being under the dominion of a royal family, OH!, yes, it was your royal family. Actually the American people had a King for president but most of them didn't know it, and he was their unelected president Gerald Ford. Ford was adopted by his step-father at an early age and took on his new father's name. Before that his last name was King. Ford wasn't elected president but took over when Nixon was forced out of office. And Ford wasn't the elected Vice President at that point, but had been selected after the Vice President resigned.
Maybe you could have a system based on Kings where every 4-5 years a new Elvis impersonator is elected based on their skills as an impersonator of Elvis. I suspect the public would enjoy that and it might prove almost as effective as the present system. I think in Britain we would have to use Royal Family lookalikes, but we may have disqualify the royal family from standing as royal family lookalikes on the grounds of cheating.
Rob: Voting for President is so inconsistent from state to state. I was just reading about Colorado and I don't think the people even get to vote there, its just a bunch of Republicans arm wrestling and arguing and probably throwing things at each other. With three people left in the running for the Republican nominee, the top two ignorant insane candidates are trying to bully the third place sane guy into dropping out.
In my wife's high school graduating class they had an Elvis impersonator. He is veRy well known locally. Maybe secretly ridiculed is a better way of phrasing it.
You can find him on YouTube - search: Stinnett Elvis
Now Esby you know the conventions are both going to be nice quiet affairs where everyone smiles and shakes hands and we all will get to vote for Starsky and Hutch.
fmcgmccllc: ...and there will be Square Dancin', banjo playin', and everybody eatin' corn-on-the-cob.
