Absent For A Bit ....

I am away for a little while working on a few or more episodes for The Adventures of My Space Alien Alter Ego story ... will return (to Earth) soon!

Notice: Blogger has screwed up and lost a bunch of photos out of my blog! They are replaced with a gray silhouette of a human head. I will eventually get them replaced with the correct photo, it may take a while to find and fix everything. So some of my stories don't make much sense without their photos, sorry for the inconvenience.

Pineapple, Size Seven, Please

Pineapple Plantation News: Several weeks ago I discovered a new pineapple plant growing from the side near the base of my oldest pineapple plant, the one I harvested a fruit from in August. Today I discovered a second plant growing from the other side, so now the size of my plantation is 7 plants! I am going to definitely repot this trio into a larger container.

I am impressed; I have tried twice now but with no luck... I think this year has been a bad year for such things with too much rain, not enough light, and in general a bit of a cold year... Us humans have been complaining about it so a pineapple would not be happy. I can understand why there are very few pineapple plants in the UK.

You are a pineapple genius!

Rob: I researched pineapple growing during Victorian England, and they used tremendous amounts of horse manure in their greenhouses. The manure slowly breaks down giving off heat and eventuaLLy creating wonderful soil. You just need more horse power. And glass. Horse-ticulture.

Badger: I am not sure if I am a genius or not, and my doubting would indicate that I am not. Maybe close? I like to think I got fortunate with my new house having two large glass back doors that happened to face eXactly west and my wife bought a fan fold room divider so she wouldn't have to look at my mess. So I got a greenhouse inside my almost white house. So combining colors, I have a lime house, maybe? Limey, would that make me British? I know that my orchid plant has done marvelous in this location during the last four years, whereas in the previous house I think I slowly kiLLed at least six orchids in the same amount of time. In this house I am getting maybe the ffth bloom set and at least the tenth leaf and now huge amounts of roots with a single plant. Don't you just have mainly northern light coming into house? That is probably the key thing.

Pearl: No! They only grow outdoors for three months of the year, Jun-Aug, then I herd them back inside. I have two large glass doors, sliding of course but not aLL them time, on the west side of my house, and then a flexible partition turns it into a greenhouse of sorts. Yes! I reaLLy have seven pineapple plants! I even have two fruit that should ripen either this month or neXt, ... I read you over at Shelly's place a few minutes ago, I even said something nice 'bout you! Which reminds me that I need to get your book purchased for my mom ....

Yes I guess it must be the light. We face basically west which is why all my plants die within minutes of planting.
