Absent For A Bit ....

I am away for a little while working on a few or more episodes for The Adventures of My Space Alien Alter Ego story ... will return (to Earth) soon!

Notice: Blogger has screwed up and lost a bunch of photos out of my blog! They are replaced with a gray silhouette of a human head. I will eventually get them replaced with the correct photo, it may take a while to find and fix everything. So some of my stories don't make much sense without their photos, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks But No Thanks!!!

I just found out that my AdSense account for blog advertising has been disabled for suspicious click activity! A couple weeks ago someone clicked a bunch of my ad buttons and generated around fifteen dollars in revenue for my account IN ONE DAY, after my account had only earned a couple dollars in the time frame of more than four years! And then a few days ago there were some more clicks, but no increase in potential payments, and today my account is disabled.

SO a BIG sarcastic thank you to whoever screwed up my account and now it appears that I have lost all of my earnings through NO fault of my own.

Is there any way to talk some sense into AdSense over this nonsense?

S. Strauss: I think it is too few of cents for AdSense to care about my account, so AdSense has turned into SubtractCents.

They s'pposedly sent an email to me to let me know what had happened and allow a review repeal process, but it was probably sent to the wrong email address. The original (defunct) email address associated with Blogger somehow manages to be stuck as the primary identifier on y account, (kinda like a social security number!) and so I think they sent the email message there even though I had recently updated it.

Here is another big bozo item: AdSense had JUST sent me a letter a few days ago congratulating me on making it to a certain threshold (?) that had their system send me a PIN number to verify my account so payments could be performed, even though I was still several dollars below the $100 threshold for a payment. I wasn't even 20% of the way to 100 dollars.

So now I can't see AdSense ads on my blog. The very last one was incredibly funny. It was an advertisement that sounded like a degree in becoming a illegal drug crime lord. I wish I would have photographed it now.

Oh man that's not good. I just set up
An AdSense account a few days ago! I hope I don't have a similar predicament and I hope your sitch gets sorted! Although when I set my account up, it said 'you MUST NOT click on the ads yourself to gain revenue' and the thought never crossed my mind until I saw that warning. Now, whenever I see the add on my blog abouts mature dating, I'm so tempted to click.....I'm a sucker for reverse psychology....and mature singles, of course.

Aysh: As you might imagine I already knew that I was not allowed to click on the ads, and I figured that Google can easily determine when if a click is coming from my session. I didn't encouraged or ask anyone to click my ads, although I did write a blog post calculating how long it would take to accumulate a million dollars if it kept growing at its previous rate. Of course that was a long time ago and was silly math, I even included a graph. What I really enjoyed about the process was watching what ads that AdSense would tie to my articles. Sometimes they were wildly hilarious. BUT to shut my account down without consulting me was rather strange and so impersonal. After all, I had allowed them to place ads alongside my material for a long time, thousands of times! So now they have got all that ad time for free, for four years. My advice would be to avoid AdSense based on their behavior. I also think Blogger has done a poor job with their system of somehow disconnecting most of my photos from my blog posts, which I am now in the painstaking process of reloading.

I have read many people that this happens to when they make a pittance of money. It seems like they do it quite often. I have never clicked on any ads as one time a lousy aim got me into some ad that made it possible for me to meet the geek squad and purchase some new hard and soft ware.

fmcgmccllc: Perhaps this is part of a big giant scam whereby Google makes a little bit of money off from tens of thousands of people. Who knows. They charge the people who have their businesses advertise, (almost immediate payments from them to Google), and then scam people like me with a delayed "future" payment, which they cancel for supposed wrong doing. So then Google makes all the profit from the people like me who create content and choose to use AdSense. IF Google thought something was going on with some of the clicks, all they had to do was not pay me for those clicks. The vast majority of my measely couple of dollars earned before the wild clicker episode(s) came from traffic, not clicks, and traffic pays very little from AdSense.

esbboston - I feel for you. Same thing happened here (and I never click on anyone's ads for that reason). I never rec'd the warning letter, either, I was just banned. Sucks.

Marianne - I don't feel as bad now knowing that the same thing happened to someone as worthy of ad income as you! And you are like a "pro" in my books! Amazing zing.

Well, today has gone on long enough, with "today" meaning ever since I woke up and there has been no nap today for certain reasons, I have been awake for almost twenty hours, yawn, so I leave you with my most recent Facebook statuses and comments to confuse you:

A)
You know, every time I lose my C4 from now on I'll remember that all I have to do is look in my backpack, and voila! there it will be, safe and sound ...

B)
‎"You ARE the Egg McMuffin of Tamie Bostons!!!"
She smiled.
No verbal response.
"You ARE the Egg McMuffin of Kitty Cats!!!"
Cooper just wagged his tail and complained mildly.
And wandered away.

C)
The lady DJ on the radio is just so amazed that four generations of people in a family were born on January Fourth, today. Actually the odds of two random births on the same day is one in 365 ignoring leap day Feb 29th. So the odds for any four random people being born on the same day are roughly 365 cubed, or one in 48.6 million, but IF you are able to have several people of each generation to pick from, then the number is much smaller than 48.6 million.

D)
Cool, I was just now directly below a V-22 Osprey!

(This was 9 hours ago. I was uptown on Main Street. It was like 500 to 1000 feet up, cool.)

(V-22 Osprey's are final-assembled about 60 miles from us and do their maiden flights over our city quite frequently. Today's bird appeared blue and white, different)

E)
There isn't a sixth one.

*sigh* now that AdSense has rejected me I have lost all the reasons to go on living, no meaning, good bye cruel world dominated by mean ole Google. You can just keep the two dollars you stole from me. *repeat dramatic sigh* plunges virtual knife into ad-bomen, twists. Falls over kinda sideways; still.

Time for coffee and a baked potato. I make this great potato in the microwave oven by cooking it in stages, heat a few minutes, then let it stand wrapped in a paper towel, repeat twice. Then I open up the potato to put the pepper, salt and garlic powder on it, then I put Kraft Mild Mexican Velveeta type cheese in it, then put the potato back together with the paper towel to melt the cheese some. Then I open it up and put third pound of sausage on top, then mix the meat cheese and spices into the potato. Absolutely WonDerFul !!!

Just to be sure: that was already cooked sausage on the potato.
