To Ozzie: I just found out today that you passed away recently. You were one of the best dogs that ever walked the face of the earth and warmed the heart of one particular man and graced the hearts of most others who came in contact with you. I enjoyed our conversations and thought of you as my step-brother. I wish I had a single word for 'missed' and 'immensely', for that is what you are.
When anyone says "Hubba Hubba", I realize they never say it with as much drive and determination and furry little jaw action as the effort that you put forth. Too bad you never got to take your verbal talent to New York City to be on the David Letterman Show. But then again, it really wasn't a 'Stupid Pet Trick', nay, quite the opposite, 'Stupendous'. At least you got to perform for my video camera and microphone, and I was able to capture one of your remarkable talents.
Your example of a human - dog companionship with deep understanding and compassion inspired me to want to do a better job if I ever got another chance, and luckily it did when my current dog came along. Thank you, Ozzie, for pointing the way.
Mom told me today that Jake has been missing you.
